Love letters

Love letters are the mirror of the spiritual condition of the society, its attitude to the emotional world, to morals, family and so on. Besides, love correspondence and first of all the correspondence of mere human beings is a valuable source of information for sociologists, philologists, psychologists and philosophers. And it is unfair that not enough attention is given to it.

A couple of years ago several European researchers decided to improve the situation. One of them was a young Swiss philologist, a senior lecturer of the University of Zurich Eva Lija Viss (Eva Lia Wyss). She decided to write a thesis for a doctor's degree with the subject "Notes of Amur: One century’s love correspondence". She began to search for material on this subject and noticed that "There is practically no literature about love letters, neither linguistic nor philological. Much is written about love letters of writers and other great people, there are works about love letters of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, on medieval culture of minstrels; in fact, their poetry was a continuous love letter. But for some reason nobody was interested in mere human beings who wrote and still write "simple" love messages to each other in our century". Eva Lia Viss has advertised in a number of Swiss and German newspapers that she was searching for love letters written at the end of the 19-th and during all the 20-th century for scientific work, and would be grateful to everyone who can send them to her. Love messages were also sent to the researcher directly by email and are stored in the hard disk of her computer. So it is also a way to send love letters via email.

And not only letters, but also post cards, telegrams, faxes, signed cards and calendars, poems, diaries, photos and simple scraps of a paper are are good as the love messages.

Many women, not only russian women, feel it is hard for them to find a marriage partner.
